The Great Migration – A Spectacle Like No Other

The Serengeti is home to the world-famous Great Migration, where over two million wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles travel across the plains in search of fresh grazing lands. This breathtaking movement, filled with dramatic river crossings and predator-prey encounters, takes place throughout the year, peaking between July and October at the Mara River and January to March in the southern Serengeti when calving season begins.

Abundant Wildlife and Predators

Beyond the migration, Serengeti boasts an unparalleled density of predators. It is one of the best places to witness lions, cheetahs, and leopards in action, with over 3,000 lions prowling the savannah. The park is also home to elephants, giraffes, buffalo, hyenas, and a diverse birdlife of over 500 species. Whether on a game drive or a hot air balloon safari, Serengeti offers unmatched wildlife encounters.

The Best Time to Visit

Serengeti is a year-round safari destination, but the dry season (June–October) is the best for wildlife viewing. For those wanting to witness the calving season, when thousands of young wildebeests are born and predators are active, the green season (January–March) is ideal.
